Veterinary Anesthesia Specialists is a consulting and mobile
anesthesia practice dedicated to enhancing anesthesia safety and
patient comfort. Established in January 2008, we provide comprehensive
specialist-level anesthesia support to general practitioners and
specialists in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to multi-parameter
monitoring capabilities (with invasive pressures), the mobile
anesthesia practice is equipped with gas monitoring, mechanical
ventilator and transthoracic pacing.
This position is intellectually and technically challenging! Duties
include, but are not limited to: preparation for and delivery of
anesthesia care for individual patients; phone, email, written and
in-person communication with pet owners and veterinarians; driving to
clinics in the service area (may include out-of-town and overnight
travel); urgent and elective consultations regarding patient care;
medical record review; care and troubleshooting of anesthesia
equipment; maintenance of controlled drug log; teaching lectures and
hands-on laboratories; in-clinic team training related to anesthesia
and pain management; locum coverage for veterinary anesthesiologists.
The ideal candidate has exceptional people skills, enjoys being the
primary provider of anesthesia care, thrives on variety, and is
dedicated to building relationships with veterinarians and pet owners.
Compassionate, clear communication skills a must. Required
credentials: Diplomate of ACVAA or ECVAA; eligibility for veterinary
licensure in Oregon and Washington +/- California.
