Anaesthesia Internship

Pride Veterinary Centre, Derby, UK

We are calling for application to an anaesthesia internship position starting this autumn.
Pride Veterinary Centre is a rapidly growing, multidisciplinary private hospital located in Derby, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will work under direct supervision of anaesthesia specialists (4 ECVAA and 1 ACVAA Diplomates, and 1 ECVAA-resident trained fellow) to provide anaesthesia and analgesia service for varied surgical and diagnostic case loads. Currently the hospital offers specialist services in: anaesthesia and analgesia, diagnostic imaging, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology and cardiology.

For more information about the hospital please visit the hospital website: http://www.prideveterinarycentre.co.uk/
The applicant should ideally have at least 1-2 years of clinical experience in general practice (preferably small animal) or have taken part in a rotating internship, although new graduates will also be considered. Desire to pursue a residency in anaesthesia is not a requirement. However, this internship program is aimed at preparing the candidate for a residency and the success chance of our past anaesthesia interns in securing a residency position (ECVAA and ACVAA) has been very high.

You must be a member of the RCVS prior to working in the UK. Additional desired skills are good English language skills and communication skills, punctuality, ability to work and think under pressure, good interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for anaesthesia.

Pride Veterinary Centre is located at the edge of Derby city centre with good transport links to major cities via road and rail network. East Midlands Airport and Birmingham International Airport offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. You are very welcome to visit the hospital and meet the team.
