Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH)
As an Anaesthesia Intern, you will be based in the anaesthesia department at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) and the Massey University Pet Emergency Centre (MUPEC). The experienced anaesthesia service works out of a dedicated anaesthesia suite and provides anaesthesia services to companion animal, equine and, on occasion production animal and wildlife animals. Highly-qualified anaesthesia technicians and clinicians are available for case discussion.
On-call duties will be rostered across night and weekend shifts, so your ability and willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays is essential. You will have ample back-up provided by experienced staff anaesthetists, either in-person or by telephone. You should be excited by veterinary medicine and passionate about veterinary education, in particular within veterinary anaesthesia. You should also be enthusiastic, motivated, organised, service-orientated, have a passion for education and possess excellent communication skills. This position will provide the successful candidate with an introduction to a research career under the guidance of specialist veterinarians.
