Anesthesiology

The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) seeks to fill a tenure-track, permanent, full-time, 12-month position within the Anesthesia section of its Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The position is available immediately. The position will contribute to a team whose primary missions are scholarship, clinical service and teaching.

DUTIES: The position will teach professional veterinary students, interns, residents and graduate students in didactic (classroom/laboratories) and in clinical setting on topics of large and small animal anesthesia; provide health care and service to large and small animal patients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital; advise and consult with referring veterinarians; develop and collaborate in a creative, basic and/or clinically-oriented research program; and provide guidance and consultation for research projects of residents and graduate students. Will work on-call hours in rotation with other clinical faculty members.

REQUIREMENTS: The candidate must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or a related foreign equivalent degree (such as a BVSc), an advanced degree in an area related to Veterinary Science, and be boarded or board-eligible by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA). Must have research experience, patient care experience, and clinical, didactic and laboratory teaching experience. Research, patient care and/or teaching experience may be gained through education, residency and/or employment.
