2015 Job Task Analysis OutcomeAdded 31 Oct 2015
The 2015 Job Task Analysis (Test specifications) is complete thanks to lots of hard work by many ACVAA Diplomates and input from more than 50% of the membership. The result is a new set of Test Specifications for the Certifying Exam. These can be found on the Diplomates' Documents & Forms and the Candidates' Documents & Forms sections of this website. Honorary Diplomate status is conferred on an individual who has made substantial contributions to the development and progress of Veterinary Anesthesiology by majority vote of the College. She and the late Leslie Hall were the first two veterinarians to devote their professional lives to the establishment and continued growth of veterinary anesthesiology as an organized discipline in veterinary medicine. Dr. Weaver is an esteemed colleague whose long history of accomplishments as an innovative provider, educator, and researcher, in veterinary anesthesia more than justifies her election to Honorary Diplomate status. Dr. Barbara Weaver is a distinguished veterinary anesthesiologist and colleague. The magnitude and impact of her efforts in the early development and continued forward progress of the discipline of veterinary anesthesiology are substantial and beyond question.
Charles Short, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVAA, DECVAA (hon.) receives the 2015 ACVAA Career Achievement AwardAdded 29 Jul 2015
The American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) Career Achievement Award recognizes a Diplomate for accomplishments throughout a long career of outstanding performance in advancing the art and science of veterinary anesthesia and/or analgesia. Dr. Short was one of the founding members of the ACVAA in 1975 and has been an active member of the College since. He has 345 scientific publications, has presented 626 lectures in the United States and Internationally and been a dedicated student and teacher of veterinary anesthesia and the recognition and treatment of pain in veterinary patients.
