We are looking for an experienced and motivated anesthesiologist who has outstanding communication skills, an ability to work within a diverse team, a desire to teach, and a collegial personality. Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthesia Management:Responsible for managing anesthesia cases from start to finish. This includes reviewing medical records, assessing patient suitability, planning additional diagnostics as needed, and formulating comprehensive anesthetic plans tailored to individual cases.
- Patient Monitoring:Oversee and monitor patients throughout the anesthesia process and recovery phase. Work closely with veterinary technicians to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care and attention.
- Collaboration:Partner with our doctors, technicians, and support staff to develop and implement effective anesthesia protocols. Directly follow up with primary vet regarding complicated cases. Provide Anesthesia consulting services with our adjacent office, Aggie Animal Dental Center and additional consulting opportunities.
- Communication:Provide clear and thorough communication regarding anesthesia plans, potential risks, and post-procedure care to both team members and clients, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making. Work to promote our Anesthesia Department.
- Training:Educate and train technicians to be proficient and independent in all aspects of anesthesia.
- Regional Anesthesia: Opportunity to implement regional anesthesia techniques with ultrasound – nerve stimulator available.
- Acupuncture: Opportunity to oversee and monitor patients.
Qualifications:
- Certification:A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) is required.
- Skills:Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to a professional environment.
- Experience:Demonstrated experience in managing anesthesia cases and training staff is crucial. This role is critical for ensuring the highest level of anesthesia management and patient care within our hospital.
Schedule: 4 days a week – Monday-Thursday -10 hours a day (weekends off). No ER duty.
