Our anesthetists are a group of experienced and talented professionals, working with and under the mentorship of a board-certified anesthesiologist. They manage anesthesia for most of our services, including critical patients and complex procedures. We are dedicated to helping our people grow and develop and encourage VTS certification (having mentored 3 technicians in VTS-AA certification in the past few years).

We are looking for full-time credentialed Anesthesia Technicians/Veterinary Nurses to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary specialty medicine and anesthesia, a dedication to excellent patient care, a quest for professional development, and an appreciation for working as part of a strong team within an excellent culture.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating and administering anesthetic protocols, including inhalant and injectable anesthesia
- Monitoring patients during anesthesia, and intervening as needed
- Performing epidurals, locoregional and nerve blocks
- Assessing pain levels and implementing analgesic protocols Maintaining accurate and detailed records of anesthetic events, patient responses, and interventions
- Ensuring that anesthesia equipment is properly maintained
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Working closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other staff to ensure optimal patient care
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to service protocols and procedures
- Staying current with advancements in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia
- Attending workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Desired qualifications and skills:
- Degree in Veterinary Technology with current licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT)
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification is a plus, as is the desire to become certified
- Experience working in a specialty veterinary hospital
- Experience in anesthesia and analgesia
- Strong knowledge and understanding of veterinary pharmacology and anesthetic protocols
- Proficient in the use of anesthesia monitoring equipment
- Ability to perform intubation, catheter placement, and fluid administration
- Ability to make informed decisions quickly in high pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong sense of teamwork
- Personal and professional accountability
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced veterinary specialty environment
- Willingness to teach and mentor others is preferred

Compensation Range
$30 – $42/hour (Eligible for overtime and shift-differentials)
