Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists is a 24-hour independently-owned specialty practice with three locations in Southeastern Wisconsin. We are seeking a full time, board-certified Anesthesiologist or a residency-trained and board-eligible veterinarian to join our rapidly growing team of specialists!
Lakeshore is home to Board-Certified Specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, and Dentistry. Our team also includes a residency-trained Cardiologist and Certified Physical Rehabilitation veterinarian. Our specialists collaborate regularly to facilitate a supportive work environment and optimize patient care. We also have the only Veterinary Social Work Program in Wisconsin to provide support for both our clients and employees.
The ideal candidate has a strong background and interest in small animal anesthesia and pain management and seeks to have an active role in anesthetic case planning and management for our many specialty services. In addition, enthusiasm for training and education is essential, as our anesthesiologist plays an integral role in helping our staff achieve the highest standards in anesthesia and pain management. Our specialists are invited to attend and participate in grand rounds, M&M rounds and journal club in our Glendale location, as well as in-house lectures by our specialists. Lakeshore also hosts occasional CE events during which our specialists have the opportunity to share their expertise and connect with the referring community. We also encourage our specialists to attend external CE to stay current in best practices, using our generous CE stipend.
Lakeshore provides the Anesthesiologist with the tools needed to practice a high level of anesthetic care, including regularly maintained anesthesia machines and circuits, mechanical ventilators, infusion pumps, physiologic and neuromuscular monitoring equipment, ultrasound, and supplies for advanced pain management techniques (ultrasound- and nerve stimulator-guided regional blocks, epidural catheters, etc). Our equipment and facilities team provides ongoing support to accommodate the needs of this expanding service. Our skilled certified veterinary technicians, including one with VTS certification in anesthesia, aim to perform anesthesia and pain management to the highest standards and are active participants in our in-house anesthesia training, which we hope to see continue with the ideal candidate.

Our Facility:
At each location, we have in-house laboratory capabilities including IDEXX CBC, chemistry, blood gas, Sedivue, coagulation, blood type and cross-match with in-house blood products and blood donor program, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and well-equipped surgical suites. In our Glendale location, we have TEG, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and a linear accelerator for SRS/SRT.
