VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center is seeking an anesthesiologist to continue the growth of their anesthesia service and advancement of hospital-wide patient care! The anesthesia service currently includes two registered veterinary technicians, one of which is a licensed VTS in anesthesia/analgesia, and two recovery assistants. This service provides dedicated anesthetic management for the patients of various departments within this referral center, including surgery, radiation oncology, neurology, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care.
In addition to heading the anesthesiology department, the anesthesiologist works closely with the technicians in the other hospital departments to discuss and implement anesthetic protocols, provide training of advanced technical skills, lead didactic teaching, and supervise anesthesia and analgesia care. Education of future and fellow clinicians is also of primary importance, and the anesthesiologist is very involved in providing clinical instruction to rotating interns and visiting residents and externs.
This position is to be held by a residency-trained, board-eligible, or boarded anesthesiologist. We are looking for someone who holds teamwork in the highest regard, is devoted to promoting patient well-being, and aims to unite the hospital with the goal of elevating perioperative patient care.
