Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA) is seeking a second board-certified or residency trained anesthesiologist!

VRA is an AAHA accredited 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. VRA was founded in 1977 and we have been supplying top-notch specialty and emergency care to pets in the Washington, D.C. area ever since. Our hospital is over 30,000 square feet and specialty services offered include medical and radiation oncology, internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, ophthalmology, anesthesiology, neurology, cardiology, radiology, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, radioactive iodine treatment, and we just added an in-house pathology department with two board-certified clinical pathologists. Our specialists and emergency veterinarians collaborate daily to provide the gold standard in patient care. Advanced diagnostic testing is available on-site, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, and an in house laboratory.  We also have an internship program every year and our interns rotate through emergency and all the various specialties. You can learn more about our hospital at https://vravet.com/.

Dr. Mariana Crumley, our board-certified anesthesiologist and the hospital’s medical director, runs our Anesthesiology department. Currently Dr. Crumley helps manage all procedures and surgeries requiring anesthesia, but our caseload has continued to expand this year with the addition of several specialists. Ideally, our second anesthesiologist would work a 4-day workweek. On days with two anesthesiologists, we would have a rotating schedule where one would oversee all imaging procedures and one would oversee all surgeries. We are looking for someone who enjoys teaching, since you will be working with our interns and technicians, and collaborating with all of the departments.

VRA is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland and is a very family friendly community. Washington, D.C. is only a 30-minute commute and offers endless activities and sites to explore. You can visit the historic monuments and museums, the National Zoo, or catch a Capitals or Nationals game.
