Veterinary Dentistry Specialists (VDS) in Katy, a suburb of Houston, Texas is seeking a full-time Diplomate of the ACVAA with minimum of 5 years of post-residency experience. However, locum or part-time candidates will be considered in the interim. We have a strong preference for candidates with experience working in private practice.

The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of internal medicine and cardiology and demonstrate the ability to start a new anesthesia service from the ground up. We seek an anesthesiologist who is organized and who demonstrates strong leadership skills. The candidate must have the ability to provide specialty-level patient care in a day surgery type of setting. We seek a person who is eager to interact with the referring veterinary community, offer education as well as build relationships with our existing and new referring veterinarians. A willingness to speak with pet parents about anesthesia risks and why VDS would be the best choice for their pet is required.  The candidate must be willing to provide post-operative care and be available to speak with pet parents after discharge if necessary. The candidate must also be able to handle a busy case load as the hospital grows and develop hospital efficiency.

VDS is a single-specialty referral hospital who specializes in dentistry and oral surgery primarily in dogs and cats. We managed a wide breadth of oral surgery cases from jaw fracture management to oral oncologic surgery. Our offices are staffed with a board-certified veterinary dentist and board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist in addition to VTS anesthesia and dentistry technicians. We currently have 3 locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas. We provide the best anesthesia equipment available to the veterinary practitioner and in particular we offer the satisfaction of caring for many patients that have not received or would not otherwise receive care due to anesthetic risk or fear of anesthesia on the part of the pet parent.
