Faculty Position Veterinary Anesthesiology & Pain Management

The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications  to fill 2  full time clinical track or tenure track faculty positions in Veterinary Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.

Duties will include:

  • Clinical service in the small and large animal Veterinary Teaching Hospital and participation in after-hour calls;
  • Clinical instruction and performance evaluation of students, interns and residents;
  • Didactic lectures, laboratory instruction and evaluation of veterinary students;
  • Supporting technicians seeking to achieve anesthesia certification;
  • Outreach activity for general public and referring veterinarians;
  • Participation in academic affairs and administrative duties;
  • Develop or participate in collaborative research/scholarship activities.

The Anesthesiology Service is well equipped and provides service for a diverse and growing caseload of companion animal, exotic, equine and farm animal patients. Well-trained, dedicated veterinary technicians support the key role of the Service within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Applicants must possess a DVM degree or equivalent. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) or European College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) is highly desirable; however individuals who have completed a residency training and are board- eligible will be considered. Applicants in possession of a non-AVMA accredited DVM degree will be able to obtain a faculty license from the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

This position comes with an excellent benefits package, including a generous sign-on bonus, 4 weeks of vacation, start-up funding for clinical equipment, or research endeavors as well as office electronics. Funding support for conference (continuing education) travel is provided. Ability to do up to 4 weeks of consultation work outside our referral area is also included. Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
