Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a 2-year term lecturer position (with potential for renewal) in Veterinary Anesthesiology in the department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences beginning August 1, 2021 or by negotiation. This position will have a 75% clinical commitment and its primary focus will be the didactic and clinical teaching of undergraduate and graduate veterinarians in large and small animal veterinary anesthesia. While not a primary responsibility of the position, opportunities for collaborative research within the department exist for the interested applicant

The Veterinary Medical Centre at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine is currently a state-of-the-art facility AVMA and AAHA accredited primary care hospital and referral centre serving western Canada. Specialty services and undergraduate and graduate training are offered in anesthesia, dentistry, dermatology, exotics and wildlife, internal medicine, medical imaging, nutrition, oncology, ophthalmology, radiation oncology and surgery. Advanced imaging modalities such as PET-CT, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and nuclear scintigraphy are available on site. The radiation oncology unit has a Varian Clinac 21EX, ARIA and Eclipse treatment planning software and staffing includes a board-certified medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and radiation therapist. We are seeking candidates who have a DVM degree or its equivalent and are eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan. The successful candidate must be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) or the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) or have credentials acceptable to the ACVAA or ECVAA for board examination at the time appointment takes effect. An advanced degree is desirable.
Salary bands for this position for the 2020-2021 academic year are as follows:
Lecturer: $80,116 to $118,960.
