Veterinary Anaesthetist (Continuing position plus Locum opportunities)
James Cook University (JCU) seeks to appoint a full time, Veterinary Anaesthetist, within The College of Public Health, Medical, and Veterinary Sciences. This will be a permanent, continuing position that does not require weekends, public holidays or after-hours work. Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia or the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia will be highly regarded, however, board eligible candidates or those with a strong interest in veterinary anaesthesia who have undergone formal anaesthesia training will be considered.
This position will involve didactic and practical class teaching for our third and fourth-year students, clinical service and clinical supervision, instruction and assessment of the fifth year (final year) as well as postgraduate students in our modern and well-equipped veterinary teaching hospital. The successful candidate will join our anaesthesia team comprising of an ACVAA board-certified anaesthesiologist, a veterinarian anaesthetist and three anaesthesia nurses working in our small but fast-growing veterinary referral center. The successful candidate will also be expected to initiate and participate in research projects.
The required qualification is a veterinary degree that is immediately registerable in Queensland, Australia with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work as part of a team. Why JCU?

Salary range is $137,055 – $152,933 including clinical allowance.
